Why these and not a free template

The 2026 mileage rate changed mid-year

$0.725 a mile through June 30, $0.76 from July 1. Almost every template in circulation applies a single rate to the whole year, which is wrong for half of it. On 25,000 miles that is several hundred dollars, in one direction or the other. All three of these read the date on each trip.

Every figure names its source, and gets updated

The rates are generated from the same file our fifteen calculators read, and each one is printed on a Rates sheet beside the IRS page it comes from. A template with rates typed into cells is a template nobody maintains. A new edition is published for each tax year.

They decide, they do not only total

What share of each payment to set aside. Whether the standard mileage rate beats your actual costs. What your rental day counts mean for how the property is treated. That is the same decision logic as the free tools on this site, applied to a year of your own records.

What they are not

Organizing, recordkeeping and planning tools. They are not tax advice, they do not file anything, they do not guarantee a deduction, and they do not replace a tax professional. Each one states on its first sheet exactly what it does not cover, and every figure is for the 2026 tax year only.
